Historical Archive: Gunhild Cross made for Gunhild, probably daughter of King Sweyn III Grathe (d. 1157) around 1150 or 1170-1175 walrus ivory with traces of pigment, 28.5 x 22 x 2.5 cm (11.22 x 8.67 x .98 inch) Latin inscription on narrow sides: "Who sees me, let him pray to Christ for Helena, daughter of King Sweyn Magnus, she who had me made in memory of the Lord's passion.
